专业术语的地道翻译是学术论文英文摘要最基本的要求。然而，在最近一期学报英文部分编辑过程中，笔者发现有几位作者在专业术语的英译上出现了一些低级错误。

例一：首先剖析一下题名为“Construction modeling and optimal allocation of roadway floor heave control group in coal mine”的英文摘要中的“The analysis results show that when the length of roadway floor drum construction is greater than 517m, it is advisable to use roadway repairing machine methods. The research results provide a theoretical basis for the optimal allocation and scheduling of the tunnel bottom drum control group construction”一段，我们发现作者将煤矿巷道“底鼓”翻成了floor drum和bottom drum!这是笔者第一次看到有人将巷道“底鼓”翻成“floor drum”，甚至“bottom drum”。稍微有点相关专业知识的人都会知道，煤矿巷道“底鼓”的英文为floor heave,而不是floor drum，更不是bottom drum。所以，在修正该作者错误的同时，笔者还附加了一条“批注”：“为什么要用drum？难道drum比heave更好看？？”。

例二：题名为“Failure characteristics of roadway along goaf with crowned section and its technology”的论文涉及到煤矿沿空巷道的让压支护，其英文摘要中有“The surrounding rock construction technology of two zones and one let is proposed”。令人费解地是，作者将“两区一让”的中的“让”直译成了“let”！其实，这里的“让”是“让压”，相应的英文为yield，而不是let，也就是说，“两区一让”的英文应为two zones and one yield而不是two zones and one let。

例三：在题目“Time-space evolution of multiple parameters of tunnel environment for rubber-belt fire in mine”中，作者把“巷道”翻成tunnel还说得“过去”（严格讲，煤矿背景下的巷道应为roadway）。但将“时空”翻成time-space就有点太望文生义、太不专业了。其实，这里的“时空”应为spatiotemporal，所以作者的“Time-space evolution of multiple parameters of tunnel environment for rubber-belt fire in mine”应更正为“Spatiotemporal evolution of multiple parameters of roadway environment for rubber-belt fire in mine”。
